To be listed as a registered contractor in the Stege Sanitary District, a contractor must be licensed, have proper insurance and utilize required OSHA permits as described below:
A private sewer lateral (PSL) is the pipe that connects the plumbing in a home or business to the sanitary sewer main, usually located in the street. The PSL carries sewage from a building to a public sanitary sewer. It is the responsibility of the property owner to maintain the sewer lateral.
As per District Ordinance No. 1793-0602,
A properly installed Backflow Prevention Device (BPD) is designed to prevent sewage from entering your residence.
